Bridal Accessories Should Complement Your Wedding Dress!A Short Guide to bridal accessories from Head to Foot We cannot agree more with the statement that the star of the wedding day is the bride - you, of course. As you slowly walk down the aisle, all eyes especially the groom's will be on your radiant beauty. Aside from your beautiful glow of love, your elegant bridal accessories enhance your overall look.Headpiece Let's start with the headpiece since this is the first bridal accessory that will be noticed for obvious reasons. Also, the headpiece will top off your look, literally and figuratively. My friend Amber chose a beautifully elegant simple black ribbon for her hair to perfectly complement the black sash and flower for her waist. Elegant and perfectly done, it reminded me of the glamorous styles of the forties. Reminisent of old Hollywood. She looked absolutely stunning. Congratulations Mrs. Vanee, shown here with her dad Larry Sandmoen. :-)

We must emphasize, however, that these all-important bridal accessories must be chosen with care. Your headpiece should complement your veil and wedding dress as well as your hairstyle since not all headpieces will go well with all of these things. For example, a tiara looks best in a formal hairstyle while a wreath of flowers looks great with loose braids. Veil And then there is the veil. Most brides will opt for transparent veils made from fabrics like tulle and lace although silk and satin may also be added. The veil can also be plain with just the fabric or it may be encrusted with crystals, lace and embroidery, among others. It may also be short reaching only the shoulders or a long train that spans the length of the aisle.
Among all the bridal accessories, the veil is the one that must be planned together with the wedding dress. You want the veil to complement your bridal gown instead of overshadowing it since your wedding dress is still the star of your ensemble. The general rule is that if your wedding gown is on the ornate side, then go for a simpler veil. Jewelry Most brides will choose to wear just a couple of jewelry pieces on their wedding day. This way, your radiant personal beauty is not overshadowed by the radiance of the precious stones and the glint of the gold. The jewelry will highlight certain aspects of your face or body instead.
Again, like all the other bridal accessories, less is more with jewelry. For example, if you already have a diamond tiara, a pair small stud earrings is sufficient. Besides, you should also remember that the numerous activities during the wedding may cause the loss of precious jewelry. Keeping it to a minimum will also lessen your risks for significant dollar losses. And last but not least....Shoes ![]() I would choose simply elegant and fantastic for the ceremony....but if your not used to walking in heels pick a shoe you will be comfortable in! But than after the wedding ceremony is done, by all means comfort is first. As my friend Amber shows here in a snazzy pair of sneakers...they can go Perfect with a wedding gown. The evening is for fun, and a tonne of it...so dress your toes appropriately so you can dance the night away. PS Amber you were a beautiful bride! Love the sneakers (and the sunglasses) ;-)
