A Vintage Wedding Dress For Your Trendy Wedding!Vintage Wedding DressVintage has made a comeback. Assuming, that is, that vintage ever went out of style in the first place. It's reintroducing itself in many different ways including having a lot of things bear the label 'vintage inspired'. From shirts to belts to shoes, vintage is making its mark on the modern day. Essentially, anything from 1990 and before can be considered vintage but, actually, real vintage begins at 1980. In addition to regular clothing and shoes, another great thing that has returned to the present day fashion style are vintage wedding gowns. Contrary to what one may think, it is actually just as easy to find a vintage dress as it is to find any other item of clothing from years ago. The tricky thing about dealing with a vintage wedding gown is trying to figure out beforehand whether or not it is actually suitable to what is desired, as vintage cuts tend to be quite different from current cuts, and whether or not it has been properly taken care of. In reference to the latter concern, dry cleaning may be able to help fix a lot of stains and fading but it will only help so much. However, anyone who regularly sells vintage clothing is sure to keep the clothes in somewhat nice condition so that they may get a decent price on the outfits.
A vintage wedding dress might seem like an odd way to go for a wedding. After all, the chances are that getting married in the dress that has been handed down from mother to daughter is not really an option for most people in this day and age. However, this problem can be easily fixed as it really is usually as simple as the mother and daughter or granddaughter, as it may be, not having the same tastes. Just because one dress from twenty years ago isn't interesting or suitable to a wedding does not mean that all dresses from that time period meet that description.
In fact, using a vintage wedding dress can add a special flare and uniqueness to any wedding as the style, cut, and fabrics used are not usually used in the same way modernly as they were when the dress was originally created. For instance, the 1940s placed a lot of stock in shoulders and poofy arms while the 1930s involved generally modest garments, with fabric designed to loosely fit around the chest, long arms, and a long trail as well as a decent neckline that does not gape at all. The 1900-1910 era really involved a lot of shoulder coverings with the initial fabric over the shoulders being covered by a designed second layer that looks much like an old fashion Spartan shoulder plate. The 1960s rediscovered lace and this discovery is fairly easy to see in most current wedding dresses, though the design and style of how it goes on the dresses has generally changed.

Using a vintage wedding dress gives the bride something to base a wedding around. They could even do a year themed set up for the reception or attempt to find their items, excluding the 'something new' from that time period or relating to that dress. Regardless of what year a vintage wedding dress is from, its sure to be a good conversation opener and it is always nice to know that there are options from before 2000 or later to choose from.
